nope sounds like they are greedy
bzinger Thanks this. -
How far away is the tow truck yard? No money in it if they charged for the distance of the tow only. They probably charge from the moment the tow truck leaves the yard to when it comes back.
MOBee, Midwest Trucker, beastr123 and 6 others Thank this. -
Call around, but - they have the equipment, you don’t.
We can’t expect good rates trucking, then complain when a guy with $200k of equipment wants to get paid.86scotty, Eddiec, staceydude and 17 others Thank this. -

Heck even small townships could be on the other side of the county.MOBee, God prefers Diesels, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this. -
It sounds about right to me. In my area (SWMO), you might get away with $350 for a 2 mile pull. If they’re not busy.86scotty, gentleroger, MOBee and 5 others Thank this. -
Found different company only $250.
Let's see if they show up lolBigBob410, God prefers Diesels and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
Company I once worked for was charged $5,000.00 for a tow of about 15 yards.
The driver pulled over on the paved shoulder to check his map. Sat there a couple of minutes and the heat of the tires melted the ice just enough to where the truck wouldn't move. Tow truck driver pulled the truck about 15 yards and refused to unhook unless he was paid $5,000.00 and yes, the company had to pay up right then. This happened in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. -
I had a 26 foot box truck towed about 15 miles from my yard to the mechanic for $375 here in Phoenix.
