I wish we did more engines but unfortunately they don’t pay nearly what they should. We do a lot of raw materials and finished parts ready for assembly. We also haul a lot of elevators and broker freight to fill in the gaps.

The 85k number is what I consider reasonable for a driver just coming to spd. I’m one of those “top drivers” (not tooting my own horn, just is what it is) I’ve grossed 75k so far this year. My next check on the 10th should add another 6k to that number. We’ve also only been on this pay program since April for my team. We aren’t a perfect company, we tarp nearly everything, our customers can be quite demanding and have very high expectations, a lot of our freight is beyond fragile and extremely expensive. But I’m confident we have a good group of leaders moving the company in the right direction. Now if we could get guys to do more then 7k miles a month and stop milking the salary program that would be awesome.

I think you should start a thread…ah that darn T word, same for Central Oregon. I really try to keep my rags safely stored in my equipment locker.

It doesn’t though. I spoke to couple who leased to Southern Pride last spring. They were spending 4 days in their huge fancy truck at the Peelot in Haslet Tx. By the time they made their ungodly truck payment and all their expenses they weren’t banking what I do a year as a company driver for a private fleet.

I am a very skeptical person by nature, I was at a point of exploration when I changed jobs, confident in my trucking /open deck skills and OTR knowledge coming in to SPD. Bottom line if you can run, are efficient in your trip planning and securement, safety, and HOS compliance are second nature to your trucking style, this pay program is interesting, and can be very lucrative. Coming into this pay program "green" to open deck work would not be recommended by me. I have talked to a couple of drivers since I started and personally recommend a couple of years through all 4 seasons first. This pay program is unique and rewards performance like no other I have ever seen.

Some of the few remaining Moore guys that stuck it out after the Wylie merger grossed over $100k last year which is ALMOST enough to put up with Wylie's b.s.

Well on my way back from dropping off more yellow stuff in NorCal, actually a great paying load, just a single 9,800lb roller - unfortunately I’m working hard to get back home so no time to add an LTL to the load.

Driving back from CA with cable, three stops with two in MI and the final in OH, and wouldn’t you know it the first stop doesn’t open until 0900 - I’d rather drop at 0700 but oh well.

The trick is to get enough miles in every day with construction and accidents to get me in position on Thursday, thankfully our trucks run 70 because that’s pretty much what I’ve been running - that and leaving at 0100 each morning.

I’m looking forward to getting back home for the holiday weekend and spending some time away from the truck, it’s been a busy few weeks and I’m ready for some downtime. Of course I have lots of personal driving to do visiting folks, but there will be no securing anything on my time off :biggrin_25519:

His continued criticism of @supersnackbar is unwarranted, we've heard it a hundred times @BM 58

Give it up and put SSB on Ignore if Ya don't care for his Posts
