I don't know if this needs it's own thread so I'll ask it here. I was watching a YouTube video (I've been researching OTR companies) and a trucker was recording himself with his hands free device but he was talking to other truckers on the CB. I've never had a CB in my truck and I didn't realize it was like a walkie talkie where you had to pick the thing up with your hand and put it to your mouth. The guy on YouTube knows his company sees his videos (I'm assuming, he does recruiting and referalls for his company). So they must be good with that.

But my question is, are CB radios not considered the same as cell phones when it comes to touching them and the hands free cell phone policies that trucking companies have? I guess they're (the CB's) considered like a radio even if you have to lift the thing up with your hand and put it to your mouth to talk into it?

 

Technically yes… I guess.
