Currently running a 2020 Great Dane reefer that’s driving me bat#### with the abs light. When driving and I hit a rough section of highway it’ll pop the abs light, and it’ll stay on until I stop and either shut off the engine or unplug the trailer cord and plug it back in. Then once I start moving it’ll go back out… until the next bump or rough section of road. Recently I had it repaired for this condition at the TA in Dallas, TX. When I moved out of the parking lot and pulled into the shop the light went out but they hooked a diagnostic machine to the trailer and found a stored code for wheel sensor which was replaced. They never took the wheels off at that position to maybe check if there was a problem with the exciter ring or hub itself.
After leaving there, I went to pick up my load going into Phoenix Arizona, went I got into Arizona and hit another really bad section of road the problem returned. Dispatch told me to stop into into another petro TA shop in Eloy, AZ I was told by that shop “sorry we have no mechanics on duty today”. The TA nearby promised to look at it that evening but then turned around and told me they couldn’t work on it… the only mechanic trained on ABS left for the night.
I delivered my load and picked up this current load which goes into the LA burbs right through the Banning scale. Plus my company has really gotten super strict about violations in CA.
I got into the TA in Tonopah and was told 7 hour wait. They finally called me to back it up to a bay door, abs of course the light went out. This time they told me they couldn’t fix it unless that light was on, abs even if they did they wouldn’t have the parts.
currently I’m looking at possibly being made to continue on and risk getting pulled around at a scale for the abs violation, or delaying my deliveries even further.

Bring it to a utility trailer shop. They will be able to fix it, TA sucks.
Goodysnap, mtoo, Rideandrepair and 3 others Thank this. -
Go to a reefer dealer. Most have 24 hour emergency service. could be where sensor wire plugs in to brain.
Rideandrepair and Just passing by Thank this. -
I had this recently on quite a few brand new Wabash dry vans.
Rideandrepair and OldeSkool Thank this. -
I bought a brand new 21 model trailer. ABS light came on almost immediately. I unplugged the light and kept going. ABS is working, just the light is on.
Rideandrepair and '88K100 Thank this. -

Someone recently told me my abs light was on. I said yep for last 90 days. I’m going on vacation for two weeks in October. It’s on the list.
Rideandrepair and OldeSkool Thank this. -

I’d be worried about a loose wheel end. Maybe you can drive one axle onto a block or curb to get the offending wheel off the ground. Then try to wiggle the set of tandems. See if they’re loose. DOT won’t shut you down for an inoperable light, or a light that’s on. They’ll write it up though. I prefer inoperable. Light on is just asking for an inspection. Sometimes they come unplugged if it’s stuck on. I have no idea how that happens
