Was riding in a 30 ft straight truck and was asleep and the driver managed to hit the one concrete pole in downtown roanoke va. Never received an butt chewing so bad for not spotting the driver. That didnt wake me up.
lovesthedrive Thanks this. -
I thought team showers at the Pilot meant you gathered up two groups of truckers to help each other get the job done faster. To my surprise, that’s not what it meant. And I wasn’t the same as the truckers I got to make up the teams. Hard lesson learned (pun intended)
Warrior Pump, Speed_Drums, lovesthedrive and 1 other person Thank this. -
I’m sorry, to answer truthfully my worst experience driving was starting out with Covenant Transport.
or watching EMT’s work on a young child that was ejected from his fathers car that flew around me in Nashville while his brother was screaming “my brother is dead”.RockinChair and lovesthedrive Thank this. -
Sometime in either '99 or 2000:
Driving a Cornbinder Sleeper, Eaton-Fuller 10 Speed Manual, with a 53' Spread Axle Skateboard, usually hauling 30K - 45K Coils and being "instructed" to not rev higher than 1600 between shifts.
Engine didn't "know" what was 1600.
Had wonderful Jakes.
Shop taught Drivers to Adjust Brakes During Orientation, so every week I adjusted Mine, mainly on Trailers and I ran A LOT in the North East.
CHEERS!!JolliRoger, Speed_Drums and lovesthedrive Thank this.
