I don't get it either. The warehouse I pull out of there is (usually) plenty of room to line up for a straight back. Easy peasy. Yet some still line up for a 90. It then takes them 15 minutes to back in as even though there is room in front of the docks, the docks are so close together one has to be careful not to hit a mirror when opening the driver door to get out.

I will set myself up for offset backs once or twice a week, usually when I don't have somebody to worry about. When there's more things to damage though I want it as easy as possible.

I asked a couple of guys I saw doing that why they did it and they both said they were comfortable with the 90 because that's what they were taught. They were both new though.

Does your Regen dohikey work on the cascadia with that code? Could it be the one box?

Basically what the rookie from ROEHL said, she is in her first week solo. We explained to her that if she would setup with her tail as close to the hole as possible, and a less severe angle she'd have less risk of hitting things. She was listening, but these are things a "trainer" and "training department" should be teaching. It's good to know how to 90°, but it's usually the worst way to do things besides blindside.

I get enough complex backing practice in at a few places I go regularly that I dont need to make things harder on myself than necessary...

At one place the backing starts with a sight-side to blind-side "S" curve across a street into a dead end alley with broken down cars on one side and mailboxes & resident parking on the other. And must try to be as far to the sight side as you can get in order to not block access to a small mechanics shop... He can get really grumpy, but he likes me. He signals that I'm #1 almost every time I'm there.

I prefer setting up for the 45. But I hate parking spots that are on a 45. Instead of the 90. I never get lined up right.

I always go for the easiest possible. Always. Every time. I'll get practice on a tough one soon enough.

Also, in my mind I'm still a flatbedder, so it still bothers me when I have to bump a dock lol. I just admitted that to myself as I was writing this. Wtf am I doing on the Walmart account?

Running team I do way less backing. At least 1 stop per day is usually in the fuel island or on a on ramp shoulder due to lack of actual parking spots during the night.
