I'm thinking of taking CDL classes, but I'm not sure if I'm hireable.
In 2014, at the age of 21, I plead guilty to refusal of a breathalyzer (was originally charged with DUI but got it dropped)
In 2017, I was ticketed for 15 over the speed limit. However, it wasn't classified as reckless driving.
In 2018, I was convicted of marijuana possession.
I have no moving violations in the last 3 years and no accidents in 10+.
Do any of you have similar records? Would even Western Express hire me?
Would I get hired?

Id get a copy of your driving record and your criminal record. Just to be sure of whats on it. But the possession will probably be a deal breaker for companies.
Get the records and see whats on it. Then call a couple companies and talk to them. -
homeskillet, buddyd157 and Chinatown Thank this.

Most likely not. Most insurance cos are going to see your tickets and have a stroke. However @Chinatown may be able to point you at a second chance type company that can overlook some of that.

CMill6671 Thanks this.

The best thing to do, IMO, would be to check with some of the second chance outfits BEFORE spending time and money on classes.
CMill6671 and Dockbumper Thank this. -

I think you can be hired as soon as you complete a cdl school.
If you're in financial stress, the state might pay for the school through the WIOA progam; Google for that in your state.
While your'e there, get all the endorsements, including hazmat.
Western Express probably hire you, and maybe a few more.JSanborn103 and CMill6671 Thank this.
