Can OD Yard Move be used after the 14 hour clock is done without triggering a violation? I know regular OD can go as long as you want, haven’t tied YM, but may need to tonight.

Thank you. I suspected that but verification is welcome. I’m too far to creep, and would be a nuisance trying.

I have done it with the 8 hour clock, but not yet with the 14.
But it should be the same.
On Duty YM is the same as On duty, and that does not matter to the 8 or 14.
You just have to get the proper break in before you hit the drive line again. -
Our YM stays on 'ON DUTY' as long as you don't exceed 20 mph. Go over 20 and it puts you on drive time. Not sure if 20 mph is a company setting, or a Peoplenet setting or if it'll do that for all ELD's, or if other companies have it set lower or higher. But YM is still ON DUTY time, so you can use it past your 8, 11, 14 and 70.

I got reprimanded at a previous company using yard move…….while I was on the yard.
BennysPennys and Suspect Zero Thank this. -
According to our safety manager you have to be inside a gated or secured facility to use it, out on the road, anywhere? Nope! Even out front by the gate. Some facilities won’t qualify for its use technically. Of course that’s only if you get a super nitpicky DOT officer or someone reviewing it. Kind of like you hear about them going over fuel receipts, for time on duty while fueling. We hear about it, but does it really ever happen?
I use it all the time, When I arrive at the shipper or receiver I use on duty yard movement for half of my 10 minutes and then just on duty for the other half. That way I’m saving some of my drive time. And you’d be surprised how much that adds up to an a week.CorsairFanboy, Bean Jr. and gentleroger Thank this. -

On duty is as long as you want.
You just can't drive untill you've taken your break. Should you exceed that time.
Or did it change recently?
