    How do we know that?
We're expected to believe the word of a trucker?
    I don't think so

Keri braved the cool air and fired off my patio grill. Has fire-grilled some steaks and my friend's wife is baking some potatoes and a large salad. I think Keri has hidden my salad dressing, (remind me to spank her later)! I will eat large tonight!

Around Dec 27th I was in the truck in NC. I felt like I was coming down with a head cold, but otherwise okay. I ate at the truckstop restaurant, called Missus Skillet, and went to bed.

I woke up at 4am, feeling very stuffy, kinda weak, possibly feverish......."crappy".

I called night dispatch, told them I wasn't gonna make my next load, I'm sick and gotta rest, I might have the flu.

Night guy says, no problem, there's some bad crud going around, all terminals are affected, take care of yourself, keep us advised.

I slept, drank water, monitored my temperature. Was near 101° for about 24 hrs, then broke. Overall body aches set in.

I felt well enough to travel on New Year's Day. Got up the road about 3 hours, pulled into a Love's, and went to sleep. Got up the following afternoon, drove the rest of the way home.

At home, head congestion got worse, moved to my chest a little, coughing started, minor case of the runs, no appetite, sense of taste/smell gone, general lethargy.

Missus calls my doctor, who has left the practice.

The gatekeeper says we'll cover him, go get a covid test.

(My old doc would never have done that. I wonder if that's why she left the practice.)

So we did. We're both positive.

"Take tylenol, get rest and fluids, call us if you think you need a ventilator"..........

So, the county health department gets paid for the test they gave me, gets federal money for "two more confirmed cases of covid", gets to report me to DoomCenter 7 as fuel for the never-ending-crisis-and- hand-wringing machine, and meanwhile, I'm arguing with the big boss about being able to use my vacation pay since I've been out of work a little over a week, and my anniversary date is just three months away.

I still can't taste or smell, so it doesn't matter what I eat.

I DO have an appetite, but eating seems a chore.

Still rather stuffy. It improves over the course of the day, the longer I stay upright. Using my cpap overnight "re-packs" my sinuses.

I figure when the "quarantine" ends Wednesday, might as well go back to work.

I tried the Mucinex, but skipped the roller dog. That was the flaw in my treatment plan.

Sounds exactly like what I was fighting for nearly 2 weeks... The 2 symptoms that hung on the longest were the sinus congestion and the lack of smell and taste.
