A certain percentage of them have to be designated for welfare section 8 low income renters.
If you don’t agree to that, the city doesn’t approve the zoning and building permit . -
Pilot in Grantsville MD has a 2 lane driveway, one lane for IN, one lane for OUT. The entire outbound lane was full of parked trucks. As I was leaving, in comes another truck. He politely moved over as far as he could and I barely cleared my trailer last him. As I was driving past all those idiots parked in the lane I held the air horn until the low air buzzer went off. Rise and shine mother truckers

Feel like the solution needs to be more than just "build more parking." There'll probably never be enough parking. Yes, it would help, but better trip planning, liability on shippers/receivers for keeping drivers ridiculously long times, getting trucks off the road, more local etc etc would also help. But of course everyone wants the black and white, quick and easy solution. Usually just ends up creating a bigger problem.

Truck parking is a problem because trucks must go to different locations and spend time away from a home terminal.
This is necessary for Interstate Commerce.
Interstate Commerce is regulated by the Feds.
Having adequate parking and sanitary restroom facilities to folsilatate Interstate Commerce should be done by the Feds.
We aren't talking a conveniences store, just a parking spot for the truck and your butt.
We all benefit from Interstate Commerce and parking should be part of our infrastructure.jsnell, dwells40 and Jenkins2020 Thank this. -
