Or maybe the company said, and I quote, "These lousy so and so's we hire as drivers don't give a fat rats arse about our equipment, we'll show them!" Not like at a former leasing company we all knew and loved.....

Yes companies seem to respond as employee and market forces dictate. Soon even the used truck market will be dominated by automated trans and knowing how to operate a manual will be a thing of the past Doing the speed limit? Impossible :(

Well fortunately they haven’t felt the need to turn the speed down, but I drove to trucks to the shop last year and I couldn’t believe how trashed they were…one had ashes in every cup holder and the other…

In the end this is a business and they deserve to have something to pass onto their kids the way they purchased the business from their dads and uncles. So while I don’t like it, I understand.

Paccar is easier to deal with than Cummins. You don’t check the oil in a Cummins unless they ok it if a warranty repair is involved. The downside to Paccar is they have a lot more sensors. Neither one pulls great, IMO. I had a Maxxforce at one place I worked. That thing climbed hills like a Billy goat. The bad side is it stayed broken more than Anthony Davis (injury prone NBA dude). Lol

I have a 2015 389 now with a Paccar and manual 10 speed. It’s been relatively trouble free for 700k miles.

I’ve spoken with a few of the drivers who seem fairly happy, they’re local and light regional. DM me if you’d like and I can try to see if we can put you in touch with one.

Cutting specs for the whole fleet is a good way to kill the morale of your good drivers who take care of the equipment. Cutting the power back on trucks that seem to pull heavy loads mostly is also frustrating as a driver.

As for the ####ty drivers who are trashing equipment, who cares what they think, they should probably not be employed there anyway.

just my opinion. ####ing bean counters.
