If you watch his video you can make the extended run kit yourself. But you have to use a regular dot truck tank mounted on the side of your truck.

You can't use just any tank. They have very specific regulations about what you can use.

I don't know how he made the remote start. There are kits out there that you can buy the parts very inexpensively maybe $40 or so but I've never seen any that you can actually turn on and off the eco switch remotely.

They tell you that you are supposed to start the engine with the eco switch off and only turn it on while the engine is running, and then shut the eco switch off before you shut the engine down.

I just had my batteries replaced last August- September. Went to the truck and checked batteries interstate brand and they're 5v. Don't know what happened but I'm disappointed in interstate and will try freightliner for some batteries

downside to using conduit is getting it sealed water tight... sitting is salt water will eat thru the wire insulation

no I have the cheaper 1 from generator supply...

I also have a remote fuel tank kit made for a boat tank.... thinking about using a 15gl tank... I know the reg saids the tank must have dot stamped on it but I asked my local weight station dot about it and he said as long as it's properly mounted its ok

What tank is it that you used? I'm curious what they told you is allowed. It's possible that another weigh station you may have a problem with that.

Is that a tank that you carry fuel as you travel down the highway or is that a tank that you fill like for overnight?

The regulations talk about how all the fittings have to be have bungs welded to them, and it needs to be a d o t approved tank that has passed the drop test and all of that if not a regular truck tank.

What did he tell you is permitted?

Can you start and shut the generator down on Eco mode?

    Do you use Eco mode?

Sometimes it will start in eco mode SOMETIMES...

Yes I do use it... adds about 45min-1hr of run time when using my 5,500 btu portable ac

this is the type I'm thinking about using...

it would give me a extra 60-65hr of run time.. I have a spot behind my side skirt on the frame just behind the can I can mount it. Then just once a week drop my trailer and bobtail to the GAS PUMP and fill it..

The dot I talked to said as long as it's securely mounted it would be ok.... he also didn't say anything about the 2 2gl red plastic gas cans I have ratchet strapped to my steps...

Amazon 12gl boat tank... dam can't past the link

I'm surprised he didn't give you a hard time.

Were you actually carrying fuel in those plastic fuel cans?

I would think another place might give you a hard time because the regulations are very clear and specific.

That's interesting though. I'm glad he didn't give you a hard time.
