Update on our Driver that ending up in the hospital. His son reports that the surgery went well. Not much on details and that is fine. Sounds like things are going in the right direction but keep the thoughts and prayers flowing for a quick and full recovery.

Ice and OKDOT don't mix. I got caught in freezing rain last year on Indian Nation TP and the Service Plaza was glare ice and the salt shakers didn't start until 0700. I watched a loaded tanker do a 127 point turn trying to leave. The slight surge kept pushing him when he would hit the brakes, I honestly thought he was going to jack-knife it at 3mph. I caught a salt truck getting coffee and asked him to make a pass or two through the truck parking area and he obliged so we could get out.

Yeah, they don't know what salt is. Their answer is to throw sand on everything. They don't understand that is for when it melts

If the batteries in the truck get too low, will the APU kick on automatically?

As far as I know, OK uses a salt/sand mix on the roads. At least that is what they used to use. Better than what they use in Wyoming, which is just dirt, with pieces of gravel in it. Seems like every winter, I get rock chips in Wyoming from that stuff getting tossed in the air.

WY uses dirt? I thought they used The Force and wishful thinking...and their motto is 'God put that on the roads, He can clean up his own mess'
