Why don't we run off road diesel in our reefers?

Doesn't the pump at the truckstop do that when you push the button REFFER.....?

Doesn't the receipt show diesel and price a reefer separate and isn't the reefer cheaper

Most do? Not all of them.
I use my fleet card and always try to find the cheapest price naturally.
Go to a station and have to give the card first..
"can you separate reefer and tractor?"
"yes... You just have to hang up the pump handle and do a new transaction"

Fine with me.. Until you do that and they give you 2 receipts both for tractor..

I hand write reefer on it... If ifta wants to audit me.. Fine..
I pull a Reefer... I'm not trying to cheat the taxes on 20 gallons of diesel every 7 months..

Is it the same diesel except for the tax, or is there a difference, like maybe in sulfur content?

    Boondock Thanks this.

Red diesel is the exact same as regular diesel... Except the dye. We used to get bulk diesel delivered to us when I was farming. The fuel truck driver would fill the Road diesel tank, while it was filling he would dump about 2 gallons of dye in the Farm diesel tank. Once the road diesel tank was full he would move the hose to the farm tank and continue pumping without switching compartments/valves on his truck.

I asked him once what the difference was and he held up the jug of dye.

2 gallons? I did security at a port that had diesel tanks. They die the 5 million gallon tanks with a couple ounces of dye.... per 5 million gallons....

I think he may have put dilute dye in your tank. The dye they had, had tons of PPE required to handle it. If it gets on your its almost like a tattoo.

This stuff washed off pretty good. It would stain you hands pink for a few day though, I leaned my hand into some that sloshed down the side of our tank and my wife thought I had a bad rash... Lol
