I'm on the I-65/I-69 cycle. Pu in Murfreesboro, drop in Kalamazoo, Pu in Grand Rapids, drop in LaVergne, TN, Pu in Murfreesboro, drop in Kalamazoo...but hey, it's 500-600 miles each way so, hang on Sloopy, Sloopy hang on...my truck's springs may never be the same.

Sure looks like it...but I'm dang sure not making $.75-$.78/mi. I pulled GM to Kalamazoo, but, are Eggo's a Kellogg's product? That's what I brought down to La Vergne.

    Lonesome and Bumper Thank this.

You really don't get it. In TL, smaller outfits are generally preferable. In LTL(usually), the bigger the better. More support, more opportunities, better pay, better benefits. You're comparing apples to giraffes.

I have found that over the years, my ADD has turned into OCD. I do the same run all week and don’t mind at all.

Your sarcasm detector must need some adjustment...I was being sarcastic because many are always picking on my "MEGA" choices when it comes to where I work. And my reasons for choosing larger companies are pretty much the exact reasons you listed. I have found that smaller TL carriers have higher priced benefits and a more limited freight base which has a negative effect on my paycheck. While most (not all) LTL companies tend to be short run, local or close to home regional type freight, which would drive me as nuts as being micromanaged. I mean, the one thing at Shaffer that has kept me from running for the hills screaming is the freight I get, usually, it isn't the same run over and over (I say usually, because I don't normally run like they have me running this week), and they have a lot of different customers so when the economy tanks, they haven't put all their freight eggs in one basket. Plus they have insurance that fits my wife's needs and at a reasonable cost. Also, they're big enough that when the economy tanks, they survive, unlike my previous small company that was bought then merged with an undesirable company.
