Yes, that is the plan. I'll slap one of my credit cards that offers me 0% for 12 months or something. I've narrowed it down to two options: 1-Lease on for 2 or 3 months with the guy I've been running for and then pay the policy cash when I get my authority. 2-Get my authority now and just slap the credit card. What is NOT an option is paying $2500 more a year just to have monthly payments. I'm leaning towards option 1 because if I apply for my authority, it'll take some time to get it active and be able to roll. I can just use that time leasing on instead of waiting around and not earning.

I don't understand. How can you keep 51% of your IFTA miles within 500 miles of your home zip if you are doing the lower 48?

I believe its a simple as say you file your IFTA report for a quarter..... If you live in Las Vegas zip code 99999...then over half your miles must be within 500 miles of your zip code each IFTA filing.

Instead of worrying about trying to keep your miles close to home, if you want to do all 48 just ask for a quote for unlimited miles. Itll be alot easier and less hectic for ya...

I do mostly east coast and being home every weekend, about %80 of my miles are NC/SC/GA/VA

What kind of trailer are you going to be pulling?
I doubt that you’ll put the $200k coverage to use running general spot freight.

Definitely dry van for now. My main focus is to get the money that I ponied up for the truck as quickly as possible. Flatbedding is also on the table when it's feasible.
