Just watched "Trucker" tonight and was un-impressed, young trampy female trucker who abandoned her son as a baby, get reunited with him when his father gets cancer, hearts are softened and those that lived did so happily ever after. For all intents and purposes she could have been a carny or flight attendant since the movie has nothing really to do with trucking except as a way to build her character as a nasty lone wolfette.

Does anyone remember the name to this movie?
In the movie this guy getting out of jail and drives this truck. Later in the movie they are getting chased and the guy climbs on the trailer and pushes the cars off on to the people shooting at them. I also remember they had to let the air out the tires to get under a low bridge. -
Was it Black Dog with Patrick Swayze? Maybe not, but there was a car hauler in that movie.

Not sure if it was brought up but don't forget Think Big with the Barbarian Brothers. One of those movies so cheezy it is actually fun to watch.....just gotta go in with the mind set that this is a 80s script with low budget. Was a pretty cool looking Pete though.

How about The Great Smokey Roadblock with Henry Fonda? It was one of his last movies. Black Dog had a great soundtrack. If you want to see a great documentary, watch A Mistress Called The Road.

Black Dog, Duel, White line fever
In that order lol -
When looking though the links at Youtube somebody cross linked the "Heavy Metal Queen" episode of Cowboy Beebop.
It's a kinda interesting episode in that Japan really doesn't have the same trucking industry as the US. But the episode is basicly "truckers in space".
And for some reason the whole Cowboy Beebop series reminds me of trucking (okay, less gunfights) the series is about a bunch of bounty hunters in the future, who never seem to be successfull enough to make any real money. As such many episodes focus on being broke, low on food, and looking for a job in a strange city/planet/station.
Also it's one of the better Anime's out there, so if you're not into animated sci-fi it's a great series to start with.
And is that Nichelle Nichols in Truck Turner? Wow!Last edited: May 22, 2011
