Most guys are not starting out with 600 mile runs. New guys will be starting at various times running to various places doing multiple runs and not just out and back.
I think it’s ridiculous to be starting one day at 8pm and the next day at 2am and then at 10pm then coming back whenever. Being the bottom guy (lol) sucks and many end up quitting.
Milk driver $450 a day !?!

Screwy start times would be tolerable if the pay was worth it. Irregular schedules are typical of OTR but the money makes it worthwhile.

What drives me nuts about trucking is that back in 2005 I was doing local dirt hauling in the SF Bay Area. I had a sweet run that paid $12 per ton and I could load 26 tons. As a w2 company driver I was paid 25% of the load. So just over $300 a day. Seventeen years later and far too many companies still aren't paying that.
