If I wanted to get my CVED and USDOT numbers and let them sit for a while (for operation intrastate) before actually purchasing a tractor…just how much would 6 months to a year of it being in existence actually help with procuring work?
Also, I’m aware you need insurance for this to even be possible. Is there some sort of minimum insurance policy I could purchase just to get my numbers and keep them active before purchasing a truck?

Quick question.......I want to pu a load in SC and deliver in SC......... I dont have intrastate authority......but I guess I need a list of states where I would need intrastate authority to pu and drop within that particular state.

Plus, just because you are picking up and delivering in the same state doesn't necessarily mean that it's an intrastate load. For example if you're picking it up at a rail yard or a drop lot that the load has already crossed state lines it's a interstate load because it's a load that matters not just your leg of the trip.

It’s all about the Benjamin’s.
You tell the insurance agent what your planning, and they’ll take your money.
Your getting setup so that when you get your truck, you can put it to work, not be 30-45-60 days waiting on FMCSA to issue your numbers, you’ll be ready good to go.
