they overloaded me during the three transfer runs to plainview. fortunately there aren't any weigh stations along the way. -
1st, you would think by now they would know how to load a truck correctly, and they do, they just dont care
and 2nd, they expect you guys to just run the illegal load cuz they know you dont want to be bothered with forcing them to do their job the right way.
Quit letting them get away with it! The overweight ticket goes on your record and comes out of your pocket, NOT THEIRS! -
Texas is the land of the wide open stretches without a scale but I agree, that's no excuse to not do a job properly. I just love it how we are held to such a high standard with such damning consequences yet we are subjected to a bunch of lazy idiots inside and outside our companies. I do my job with precision and expect nothing less from customers, dispatchers, and shop monkeys.
ONE thing I miss about Knight is telling them how stupid and worthless they are. They do make a great punching bag for built up frustration. That only goes to show how desperate they are for good drivers. I never suffered any repercussions for speaking my mind. You get what you pay for Knight, ya stupid tightwads. -
dna, i finally had at it with overnight dispatch and the shop the night the trucks' batteries died on me. it was 'sposed to drop below 20º that night, and was rapidly dropping. the wuss in the shop couldn't handle my coarse language, and reported me for it. guess what! nothing happened to me! -
If you need convincing that Knight is cheap. Don't listen to us drivers blabbing about how we performed work without compensation. All companies are cheap, but Knight makes money on not spending it on equipment, paying a low wage to the driver, and then not paying the driver for work performed. Knight is a pure mess. They really do have no clue nor do they care, how to retain one single driver. Sitting around a terminal with no load and then chatting with new drivers that have no load or truck ?? The money they spend on absolutely nothing, makes you wonder what the whole point of their existence is. If a job as a truck driver is what you need then this is not your place. -
trust me, i know what you're talking about. i've also seen that missing battery space. my laptop alone eats up the battery juice. it's frustrating. this truck won't idle unless it's lower than 32º outside. as soon as i turn the truck on, it had better say "idle shutdown canceled", or i'm screwed. i've left a few times long before my 10hrs were up due to not being able to sleep because it was so #### cold. 3 wool blankets and full clothing can only do so much. i would drive far as i can before having to get off the road for a bit. then i'd catch up on the hours lost trying to sleep.
i only took the job with knight because i needed a job real bad. i was down to my last $60 in the bank, and needed the income to continue making payments on my house, car, and everything else. having a small stream of income is better than going on welfare, or setting up shop at the local halfway house, or freeway underpass.
i'm still actively seeking other avenues outside of coolie carrier trucking as well as options with carriers that deal with specialty freight. with the specialty stuff, however, i've noticed most won't even look at the rest of my application and resume as soon as they see my current employer and the previous. -

one would think with all the regulations in our profession that there would be some rule requiring adequate heat AND A/C for the sleeper berth so the driver could obtain adequate rest.
after all they are so #### worried about me falling asleep at the wheel cuz I'm too #### fat but dont give 2 shakes if I froze or sweat my fat butt off the nite before??? -
