I’ve got 5 Cat engines ‘05 or older. In the last 15 years I might have had 2 hours total of emissions related downtime, all of it screwing VVA solenoids on the BXS. You couldn’t give me newer ones.

Oxbow and Cat sdp Thank this.

    Definitely not.

Too many issues, aftertreatment for example. Check engine light always on..

I don’t know what some people are going to do. A friend of mine has bought 6 new trucks in the last 2 years. Haven’t talked to him in a couple of months but he had 2 in service then with incomplete emissions systems on them, and 3 were down waiting for parts, one of them since last Dec. Six trucks and only 1 makes it 2 yrs without a major #### up of some sort? That’s not performance.

Awesome,,, I can tell, you and my daughter have a lot in common. I was quite vocal as well, and I think it helped her in work today, showbiz, another subject altogether. I can tell you have too much of a conscience to be a dispatcher, it's a tough job and pays poorly, ironically, the most important job. As far as "throwing phone", I can say without reservation, and I'm sure your dad said the same thing, when the cell phone came out, it literally changed everything. I became a truck driver because I wanted to be alone, and for the 1st time, I wasn't alone, and that signaled the end of trucking for me. Thanks for the interest dear, it's always been a thankless job, not that I was looking for it, but for guys like your dad and me, it was a great job and never wanted to do anything else.

59 years and still doing it. Started 1963 working for Carolina Trailways, realized real quick that I needed several years of seniority at Trailways to keep from starving, so I started driving part time for Greenbrier Farms, the world's largest nursery at that time. I was making 8 cpm with Trailways and 5 cpm with Greenbrier Farms. I graduated from Greenbrier and went with Preston part time and learned the freight business. From Preston and Trailways, the employment record is too long to get into. Retired from a major LTL company several years. Got tired of freight, tried hauling milk part time for 13 years, cheap, cheap and cheaper. Right now, I haul the mail two trips per week, 1200 miles(best job that I have ever had)

While his focus and clientele is 7 and 8 figure networth people, he shares very good information about other countries. His motto is "go where you're treated best".

I don't know your ciscumstances, but there are a lot of American/Canadians living in Latin America and other places with their SS income, and ironically a lot more freedom and less red tape than here.

Take the opportunity and go visit other places, if you have the opportunity to do so. Lots of expat communities in Mexico, and you're still close to the US.

That's the whole supply chain issue now.

Can't find drivers because pay is low. No drivers, so things like parts don't get delivered. Even food...

It's a mess. And...looks like it's going to be worse.
