I’d be worried about whether or not that would have enough kick behind it to penetrate the skull.

They shatter leg bones, shoulders, and ribs in deer... The big deer we have out west too, not those large dog size deer y'all got back there.

You think you were over on that setup with that short trailer?

If you were it couldn’t have been by much. With my single screw and a 48’ without a liftgate I can probably get 36K on it. I run my fifth wheel slid up so the drive hits 20K at around 10.8 on the steer.

The truck has stopped!!!!! At an indigenous TA.

And The OM has authorized PIZZA, using TA points.

    The driver will be pleased.

Passed 3 carcasses on our side of the highway a few hundred feet apart, all off to the side, burnt to cinders.

One had an air horn atop the charred ruins.

That must have been a HUMDINGER.

This is why open deck is better. He's probably getting Ike $10 mile on 2000 miles.

Is there something you'd like to share with the group Dale?

Yep $10 per mile sounds great, but what's the revenue per day?

I would have to spend too many days parked in the truck to justify the cost of one of the long sleepers.

I would not be inclined to take loads that have that much layover/detention. The couple of times I did I made sure the load had enough money to cover a hotel room, daily truck cost, and daily driver wages.

For me it all boils down to "I'm not sure they can pay me enough to sit around long enough to justify that size of sleeper."
