You might just lose that bet. I retired in 2011 after 42 years and over 3 million miles and things were starting to go down hill in the industry back then. I live in Winter Haven, Fl. and there isn't any white sand here. I missed driving but not the BS from dispatchers and receivers. I just bought a 5th wheel and travelled so I still get to drive. See my Avatar photo. I wouldn't want to deal with all the regulations, e-logs, auto trans., electronics and cameras that you drivers have to deal with today.

Do you live in the travel trailer year round? Or do you have a residence in Winter Haven?

    JoeyJunk Thanks this.

He's resilient. He's probably on his way to NC. Happy as a lark, whistling Dixie.

JoeyJunk, Speed_Drums and iraqralph43 Thank this.

With all that's going on right now with the frequent shootings, he'd better cut back on his rhetoric. I expect companies to crack down on threatening conduct.

I'd hate see him get terminated with that kind of causation. Lincoln likely has a few snowflakes that could get him canned.

Please, we're talking about Shaffer. They insisted I pull the load over w/o bills, and they would unload me. I should have said no, it's illegal to move freight without a b/l, but it was a short distance, so I tried. Problem 1, no temp on the dispatch...load was set to -10 s/s, supposed to be -20 cont. Problem 2, without b/l the guard isn't permitted to let loads in. Problem 3, I wasn't provided a name of the person to whom our CSR talked to, so they couldn't verify who had been sent the bills. Problem 4, Crete seal because it's a return load someone rejected. And, I was given no reason as to why it was rejected. Problem 5, I was technically late because it was after 6 when I got the go ahead to deliver, so now I am a work-in, and there is another 6 am Shaffer still sitting at his door waiting, and it's after 9...so basically I am screwed. And they're like Shaffer, they bend you over w/o lube and jam it in dry.

no need for that, lots of places around home are hiring still, and I am telling the trucking world bye-bye...

I figured it was something like that…. The company I work for pays from the day you pick up the load not the day you deliver. Can cause some beautiful paychecks when you work an extra load on the weekend. A few weeks ago I started on Sunday had off Tuesday and got home on Sunday with 4511 miles in one week or I should say eight days… Thanks to a reset on that day off…

And the nighmare continues. Got empty, handed paperwork...that has a different trailer number than what the load was loaded on. So now they're trying to figure out if the load was unloaded, rejected, then reloaded on a different trailer...or the CSR sent the wrong paperwork.
