Most Walmart positions pay more than the guard shack lol. Could be worse. He could sign us rich truckers in all day!

My trainee for the week is on the way home tomorrow because he cannot interact with customers and follow basic instructions. It's not an esl issue and he's not a moron. He's got a dd60 brain but the transmission of a geo metro and a busted clutch.
When we checked in a the customer today, we were told to wait until the driver in door 6 pulled out, then back in. He gets in the truck and starts trying to pull out of the staging area. I stop him and he gets huffy about "she told me to back into door 6". Yeah, but only once it's empty.
After 30 minutes, loader comes out and asks for our pickup number. Dude responds we "we're going into door 6". Loader again asks for the pickup number, dude starts to repeat "we're going to door 6", but I cut him off and read out the pick up number. Loader says he needs us in door 10 instead. Door 5 and 10 pull out at the same time. Which door does the guy try to set up for?
When we finally get out of the shipper we head up the road to Big Cabin to scale. As we approach I make sure to point out the scale and tell him we're turning left at the light. What does he do at the light? Attempts a uturn.
Dude's a 40 year old man that doesn't have the sense to pour piss out of his boots. He'd be lucky to qualify for walmart greeter.Itsbrokeagain, mitrucker, 48Packard and 15 others Thank this. -

Made it to my relay and swapped loads, then made it all the way back to the Little America in Flagstaff before shutting down, and their A/C is out in the building. It was actually cooler outside than inside. With the swapping of the loads then the ice cream load to Henderson, it'll help me to top 2900 miles for the week.

Ops just can't get my timing right today. Rejected 2 loads, one was 700 miles and other 1100 due to pu/del times just not working for me.
1st was a back - n - forth load. The load I picked up in SD, delivers to Golden Brewery in Denvor as a drop and next load was suppose to be a preload of beer headed back to the same place I picked up at. If I accepted it then that would of put me at 2800 miles for the week but it was a morning running load. Ops just saw I had a full 10 hours on my drive clock when picking up and gave me it. Wouldn't be able to make it back up here before they closed on Friday if I ran my regular schedule so dropped it.
2nd load is a live at Leprino Foods in Greeley going to another Leprino Foods for a live unload on Saturday. Nice 1100 mile run BUT pick up is set for 6pm and I won't be in Denvor till around 9pm tomorrow. Place is 24 hours so if they can change my pick up appointment I can run it, but as of now I'm loadless after I get around to dropping current load.
Surprisingly have not heard anything from Ops yet about my constant load declining.Itsbrokeagain and Speed_Drums Thank this. -
As for being woken up by messages, that won't happen, I keep all the volumes down except the one that controls the voice volume of the digital nag reading the messages when you hit the play button while moving. Deland beeped me today wanting to discuss my reasons for my eminent departure. She apologized if her message woke me up, told her I never hear them beep, I only notice the blinking envelope and the gray popup that tells me I have a new message when I get up in the morning. We did eventually talk for 20 or so minutes about the issues, but it's nothing I haven't told her before. I am supposed to get a call from Mike M about the issues I am having with Op's in general, especially the weekend Op's managers, but based on previous problem solving calls in the past, I am not expecting any real resolution to any of the problems I have been experiencing...it's just a "feel good" attempt by management to prove to their boss that they tried...Last edited: Jun 9, 2022
