Made it to Deland behind a hook, he was entirely too long to maneuver his truck, my truck and trailer into a parking spot, so he dropped it in the middle of the driveway as out of the way as possible. Fortunately there was a pull-thru spot, so after he left, I worked my magic and got it started and in granny gear (while connected to the load) and got it in the spot, dropped and bobtailed to somewhere out of the way to chill. I imagine that the repairs are gonna take a while, so I am packing with the anticipation of moving to a different truck.

I am to the point right now, giving a crap and I aren't in the same hemisphere. Maybe it's a form of battle fatigue or PTSD and my anger center has shut down in order to keep my BP low enough to pass a physical if I end up deciding to try one more company rather than retire from this trucking version of "Groundhog Day"

You could always come back to haunt other drivers by getting it to dispatching. Not the same money. Even more headaches probably, but turn it off and go home at night.

When I left Shaffer they wanted me to come and work in the office in Marietta but I turned it down.

Long commute, closest dispatch office is Marietta GA, which is 300+ miles. I doubt they'd hook up a T-1 network at my house so I could dispatch from home. Plus I have grandkids that get off the bus at my house during the school year, so a work from home thing wouldn't work.

    Speed_Drums Thanks this.

The way things are going here, that might be how Lincoln is already doing things.

I think statistically the grandkids would do better, actually. And you could pay them dirt cheap!

    Speed_Drums and dwells40 Thank this.
