since i have been retired, i have had second thoughts on things i shoulda, coulda, woulda done while on the road.
i suppose that particular time i drove by, i coulda taken some time to at least pull in, woulda checked it out, then maybe shoulda grabbed some sort of meal.
the old saying, "you only live once" applies to many things, in our lives.
oh well.

The reason I love the Walcott 80 is the size of the lot . I used to pick up alot of steal coils 20 miles from there so I never had to worry about where I would park for the night

I was there inadvertently last year during the truck show(didnt know it was going on). I picked up in western Iowa on a Friday and was oversized and curfew was coming up so I stayed there. Also last week, I delivered in Des Moines Monday morning, and my next pickup wasn't until Thursday in Illinois so I stayed there monday and Tuesday night. On a side note, my trailer is still in Illinois, I left it there last Thursday because they couldnt load it in time and holiday oversize restrictions. I bobtailed home, ill go pick it up monday to deliver in Charlotte Tuesday sometime. Ok carry on....

It was a different place when they had the old building. Not so much a tourist trap like it is now. Thinking back, was it in 98 or 99 when they did the remodel?
