The company I'm working for says they have a sliding scale for pay and I'm supposed to get 60cpm for any load over 300 miles and 50 cents for anything over 600 but upon completing loads that were under 600 miles, I would expect to recieve my 60cpm but on the settlement it says I was paid 55 cents for all miles. Is this company stealing from me? Do I have a right to complain? I don't remember signing any paperwork that gave them the right to deduct from my rate of pay.
Should I get a lawyer? Should I collect more evidence? I'm afraid to say anything right now with fears of causing them to try and lie and say there was some kind of mistake. But I honestly feel like they are stealing from me and otherwise running a giant scam.
False advertising on a sliding scale?

So they split the middle.
Go ahead and sue, they don’t keep lawyers on retainer.KB3MMX and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -

They can't steal what you never really had. They met you in the middle. Let it ride man....it ain't that big of a deal. You're getting paid the same all miles which is better anyway. It's silly to egin litigation for something like that. You'll spend way more trying to recoup them few pennies. Not the hill to die on.

Most companies count loaded AND empty together TOTAL miles
Others pay empty and loaded at different rates..Another Canadian driver and 1040wsxbl Thank this. -
I didn’t see that you confirmed in your other thread whether you are being paid as a 1099, where no taxes are taken out of your check, but it sure sounds like it. If you are, then they can do pretty much whatever they want with your pay and you have little recourse unless you have a signed contract that says otherwise.

Is this the chicken poop 1099 job that fixed your logs in the other thread? If so, good luck.
