Honestly, and in the spirit of helpfulness, you REALLY need to run with Landstar or the like BFORE you just 'jump in'.
Honestly and seriously, please don't do this.
What happens to the load in case of a breakdown as an Owner Op?

With your own authority it's up to you to find a way to get it delivered. It's almost always an unpleasant experience all around. I've never seen any "help I'm broke down please deliver my load" loads on a loadboard, doesn't mean it doesn't happen though.
Coffey, TLOC and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
If you have a break down and the load cannot wait..
Inform your customer
send one of your other trucks
Rent a truck
Call another carrier that you get along with and have them do a power only.
you take the load you own the shipment. If you can’t handle that, there are companies you can lease on to and they will bail you out. Why? Because it’s their load, your only a driver that owns equipment. Nice perk at timesLast edited: Aug 27, 2022

I had the same thought too. Before I started running my own equipment. I always stay on top of my maintenance. That’s some very scary stuff .
TLOC Thanks this. -
Breakdowns will happen. Have a plan before it happens. Have a plan for your first fails.
Siinman Thanks this.
