either way, it's being towed...
can't be a good running truck, right out of the design room...lol...lol...lolAnother Canadian driver Thanks this. -
I think they bragged and promoted an 'all new design' when the Maxxfarce engine came out, and we know what a romping success that engine design was. International needs to sponsor lemonade stands for the customers kids, because their design department produces a lot of lemons.

No EGR cooler.
No VGT. Fixed turbo only.
No active regen needed.
Only 26.000 psi fuel injection.
Dual stage 'ONE Box' aftertreatment.
Aluminum oil pan and valve cover.
Running hotter generates less soot but more NOX.
Fuel efficiency comparable to A26 engine.
According to the engine designers.2013Maxx and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
The single countershaft transmission kinda has me scratching my head a little. Twin (and triple) countershafts balance out the torque loads better. Gears in mesh tend to want to get forced apart under torque. Wonder what the longevity would be.

I never touched the synchro or main gears.
They are still good.
I only changed the actuator and the internal harness, the clutch, the plate and the bearing.
It'll last for another Mil easily.
Not too bad.AModelCat and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
They're saying all exhaust gas goes through the fixed geometry turbo. That along with a lack of cooler more or less says it has no EGR system. Its about time since we have the ability to reduce NOx in the SCR catalyst.
No EGR plus advancements in fuel injection means it probably puts out minimal particulates as well. In theory its good, how it holds up in reality we won't know until it gets some real world hours. -
What is the possibility that the photo of that truck corresponds to this teaser from Freightliner?
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Looks like the teaser Freightliner posted was about this; I bet it's a long-haul version of the eCascadia. Or not, maybe it's just a facelift.
