i hate the stretch of us60 between loop 101 and loop 303. there are too many #### traffic lights! it's real fun getting into a heavy load drag race with other carriers. i've taken my bike along us93 quite a bit throughout the years. perhaps next time i'll get one of my uncles to join me since he has an hd v-rod muscle. he's been asking me to do some riding with him some time. he's already let me take the v-rod out for a spin around the chandler, mesa, and gilbert areas.

Loop 303/I10 was originally great until they added all the crossroad lights, dropped the speed limit from 50 mph, and with the housing buildup in W. Phx/Surprise, traffic got pretty bad
US 93 on a nice day would be a good ride. But during the daytime. All the Las Vegas/Laughlin traffic out of Phx goes that way, and it is a main truck route for the same reason. -
Can you take 10 out west from Phoenix and take 303 north to 60 ? The overpass was done last time I went through there.

I used to enjoy that drive along us 93 on the way to Vegas when I was a 'civilian.' But after 8 yrs of western regional OTR and now out of it, I prefer going around Phx on 85 to I10 and taking the 'long' way up there along US 95 in CA/NV (assuming not flooded by heavy rains). Have no plans in the near future of ever driving to CA/OR/WA, as am really burned out on the Left coast!! -
Much like all of I-40 now. -
I have heard a lot of talk about cheap freight, but really why would a company driver care what there freight paid? I made the same per mile whether the load paid a buck or 3 bucks so why would a driver care what the load payed?
To me freight is freight . My self I could care less what I was hauling or how much it paid as long as it was legal and safe to drive.
Knight is a large company and they specialize in short to medium hauls. Guess why? Because they usually pay more especially the short runs.
By the way, a load of Red Bull or Nordstroms apparel is not cheap freight. -
i care because the lower they go, the more likely a pay cut is to come. guess who's first in line when a pay cut is in effect. -
the electronic, anti-money making system is already malfunctioning on my truck. while driving, i was greeted with the annoying double beep. once i found a place to stop and check it, it was saying i was in violation of both the 14 and 11hr rules. i was not in violation of any rules. i had been sitting for nearly 3 #### days before i got to leave the crap hole i was in. i didn't move the truck an inch the entire time, and i do remember putting the status change to line 1, and then 2 once i got back inside the mobile jail cell. now it's reading me as being nearly at the 28hr mark on line four, and more than 17hrs of driving time. guess what'll happen once i leave my current location. i'll have to deal with it for the entire drive to fontana. it's going to be torture.
i called the safety man, told him of my situation, and he said he'd get it straightened out. i'm not holding my breath. fortunately i'm keeping a paper log.
