here, the driver of a fire truck, is called an "engineer" as he/she operates the pumping equipment and the aerial ladders.
we do have a "few" volunteer fire depts here, but, i am not sure if the operators/engineers are CDL holders or not, as there aren't high numbers of volunteers.

Those signs are prevalent around here. They are almost always placed at bridges. It’s because the bridges are deteriorating and have reduced load capacity. Emergency vehicle weights are lower than a normal cmv. That is because of the speed at which the emergency vehicle hits the bridge.

I thought those Emergency Vehicle Weight Limit signs were about them stopping on overpasses.
Basically, if an accident had occurred on an overpass the emergency vehicle cant stop directly on the overpass. -
They popped up around here all of a sudden this year. No idea.

Sounds like emergency vehicles are allowed to be 86k but some structures aren't rated for that so they post the signs?
