And who knows what it would do in the long run.
The world we live in is full of absurdities, for instance, the income tax is an absurdity - who's business is it to know what is in my wallet.
Or why can't I ran on paper or as much as I want. -
Some of you who say it is non of my business.
Would you not look in the shipping manifest at the shipper's rate if it were included?
Or would you close your eyes and try not to see?
DAT offers the shipper to broker rate as a data product.
This information is of value. Those who would know how to use it woukd have edge over those who would not..
Would it be true to say that there are a lot of things that wouldn't be someone's business in a private life but in the business world are required to be disclosed?Last edited: Oct 13, 2022

I put a place up for sale on Monday, the real estate broker had me sign a bunch of paperwork. It said that they get 5% of gross, and then they split it 50-50 if another agency makes the sale. I told him I didn’t actually care what he got, as long as I got the number I wanted in my pocket for the sale.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I should not be surprised how many people out here have 10 years worth of their first week of trucking under their belt.
if you can’t make money with a truck, you don’t know how to make money. Nobody else is gonna make you make money.Swine hauler, MartinFromBC, God prefers Diesels and 6 others Thank this. -

1. your agent has to disclose that,
2. Your buyers broker has to disclose his profit, agent collects from seller.
3. You wouldn’t have hired an agent if you didn’t know his cut to begin with. Because he could have come back and said 30% once the sale was done. So it doesn’t apply. In fact industry standard is 5-6% and it’s disclosed before you sign the contract.RJM1953 and jjthomas89 Thank this. -

but I’m willing to bet you’ll want to know the profits the broker and agent makes every time to apply, or before you apply. You won’t go in blind and take the brokers word for it.
See this is the issue. If you want capitalism you must want it in all areas of life. It’s either absolute or it’s hypocrisy.
