I once ran 200 miles with air bags dumped, tried/checked 5 things cause i knew it wasnt sounding and feeling right. the idiot light and switch were covered up by the moronic placement of the qualcom. Doesnt excuse my not recognizing what it was, felt real dumb after i got to the terminal and dropped the trailer. I had 4 years, nearly 500k miles under my belt at the time

I am outraged than I drove 30 miles once with airbags deflated. I punished myself appropriately later. I may have forgot to tell the boss.

    “Weigh Station-All Trucks Must Enter”

We’ve all seen that sign before. I reckon that I am one of those idiots who caused the DOT to put signs up. Ran past a scale, Smokey chased me down. I didn’t know I had to go in there. “ Why did you bypass the scale?”

Because my weight is fine? Ticket.

The first time I pulled an oversized, drove fine, got empty, crossed the scale in Iowa and got a big ol ticket for having an oversized banner with an empty trailer.

I didn’t know anything. Didn’t have a trainer. No cell phones. Much of what I learned came from some cop writing tickets. Thankfully, they weren’t all mine.
Got a ticket for being 18000lbs over gross in Minnesota. Had an overweight permit, but at the time, my truck was still registered for 80k. Almost started crying for that one.

“Driver, take this to your company. They will gladly pay it. “

They will??? Why are you putting my name on the ticket then?

“To insure you get this to them.”

Once you learn from your mistakes, you have something to laugh about.

Steering wheel blocks the indicator lights for air bags, heated mirrors, and engine fan. I’ve left them on countless times without noticing. I’ve also done the drive with dumped air bags thing before.
