Talked with my DM this morning since she's the weekend person this time and she had already put in my layover and holiday pay. I'm pocketing $820 to sit over the weekend and do nothing. Not too shabby.

Man sometimes i hate reefers, or more accurately, Carriers. Guy parked next to me and his Carrier is shaking my truck. I'm pulling a Carrier right now and it's not near as bad as that one. That being said, i pulled an old 2018 Carrier that was loud enough that i could've been ticketed for disturbing the peace...

Not going to lie. I'm actively looking at other companies right now. Where i live at just isn't working out and my miles and pay are suffering because of it. I've lived here for 4 months and I've only picked up one load out of the state of Kansas, and that was almost 200 miles away in Kansas City. I've never delivered into my state. The biggest offender is the fact that Magnum doesn't pay for deadhead miles home. I've put almost 110,000 miles on my truck since the start of the year, yet I'll be lucky if my paid miles crack 100k. That's a lot of miles and money wasted just getting home. When they try to deadhead me home over 700 miles from BFN in Wyoming, without getting paid a dime, then it becomes an issue. I had this issue when i lived in Michigan too, just to a lesser extent. If all these deadhead miles were paid, then I wouldn't have this problem

In a situation like that 700 mile deadhead it might be worth asking about grabbing line haul runs to get you closer to home if your anywhere near or passing through the ltl footprint. It might mean a few drop and hooks along the way but it beats driving 700 miles for free. They have an ltl terminal in Kansas city MO. Not ideal, but it's a bit closer to home. This might as work for getting you into a better freight area comming out of hometime.
