I don't get all the hatred for this guy. He's almost unshakably friendly. Yes he's prone to a little click bait style exaggeration, but that's no crime. I've seen him acknowledge taking many jobs for less than $8/mi, especially lately - this particular accusation is a lie. He obviously loves his kids and family deeply, he's got a work ethic that I can only marvel at, and he often takes the time to help people and animals when they are in need. For example, when he adopts multiple stray cats and dogs permanently, I conclude his empathy almost certainly isn't (at least entirely) fake.

What a bunch of sour grapes some of you are.

No doubt he is a good dude with a good family. I just can't stand his clickbait videos. Usually a tag line that sounds Interesting but then very little content in the video.

I met him at the Lube Zone in Carnesville, GA where I was getting a PM. He seemed like a nice guy.

I admit, the $8/mi was an exaggeration. His business model was offering very high rates for last minute loads that needed to be moved now. Occasionally, he got someone to bite. He boasted about how much he was getting per mile, but they were usually shorter loads and he often deadheaded long distances back home. He spent a lot of time at sitting at home. If it weren’t for YouTube and other income, it wasn’t sustainable and gave the wrong impression to aspiring o/o’s about rate and income potential.

That’s my main issue with him. I agree with most everything else you said. I enjoyed his earlier videos. I stopped when it felt more like his main focus was the channel and trucking was just a side show to generate content.

I was going to say "Jeez - tough crowd here!" - at least we're honest here, if sometimes a bit harsh. I have no opinion on the guy - hope he succeeds in whatever he pivots toward.

I have to agree with you here - I'm very much against any content that is not genuinely helpful/honest or useful. If it's strictly attempting to generate revenue from views/clicks, it doesn't interest me.

Personally it takes a lot for me to sit through anything for 20 minutes, I'm just not geared to lengthy screen time unless it's riveting material.

All this said when I produce my own content - and some of the interviews run well into the hour plus category . . . but I'm after the sharing of information aspect, not revenue via misleading content/titles.

I think for a lot of viewers, simply watching the activities of everyday upper middle class family life is the draw of the channel in itself. Though I have to admit, financially this was probably only made possible in trucking by the brief spurt in high rates that the freight market experienced in the last couple of years, but that is now - at least temporarily - bust. 'Justin' has his youtube channel to fall back on, and you can sense that he is trying hard to pick up the slack using this. Which I don't blame him for. While most other drivers are likely not so blessed.

He's not blessed he's a BS artist.... One has to wonder how the two lifted pick-ups, a Dodge Hellcat, a custom motorcycle, and a vacation home with a boat were acquired in such a short time...... He doesn't make that much in youtube money..........

wouldnt be to hard to finance all of that... just cuz some people have a lot of materials.. doesnt make them rich.. it could most likely mean the exact opposite.. who knows... i dont really watch any youtube trucker other than ezrider and twinsticks... but they are not really youtube truckers... just great guys with youtube channels that happen to own and work on cool trucks..

I’ve noticed a lot of those high flying big money making trucker channels on YouTube have went silent:) I watch some for the comedic entertainment knowing that most of them are full of themselves and don’t know much about this industry. I saw a channel of a guy trying to convince hot shot drivers that they can make it on a $1 a mile:) He made it sound real good to a dreamer with a 1/2 Ton Pickup and a home made trailer.

He just seemed to create drama when there was no need, I guess that's why he got under my skin.
