Depends on where you stay actually & how much money you wanna make For example I live in Texas mainly Dallas area so with the current freight lane I run I’m usually home thru out the week but I stay out a minimum of 2 weeks just stretching my legs out east & making my way back south but you can be at home whenever you want as long you keep up with the truck note

Tall Mike and asphaltreptile311 Thank this.

I see them daily in Nitro Creek and Smyrna loading new cars. I never asked any of them where they are headed though.

We had 3 drivers that I know of that left our company and went to Accelerated. One of them has recently returned. His story is that the trucks are overpriced and you pay a lot of money to eventually own the truck.

He said everybody is killing themselves to make the payments and put money away for escrow, insurance etc, and not have much left afterward.
Nice trucks but it sounds like a typical lease purchase to me.

An owner operator told me one of the 1st rules would be to never buy, lease or finance a truck from someone that controls your dispatch. That way if things don't work out and you decide to leave, the truck goes with you not them.

This guy learned the hard way. He invested some money into the truck with getting it to look very nice and now he ended up giving the truck back to the company because he couldn't make it happen.

I've never worked for them but I would be very skeptical.

If you want to have your own truck, get your credit rating in order, save up a boat load of cash for a nice down payment and finance it through someone other than the company you're going to drive for.

If you can't do that then you have no business being an owner operator. Being an owner operator will just compound the problems that you already have. These deals that companies like Accelerated offer to drivers are very attractive because they probably don't have their financial life in order. I understand Accelerated doesn't require any money down to start becoming an owner operator either.
That's very attractive alright but I would look at the big picture.

Just my opinion. That and $3 will get you a cup of coffee.

It's kinda like the hurricane express of car hauling I looked into them but they were very sketchy about the company driver side

LOL, I was talking about hurricane, but yeah, nothing worse than a big unit on #1 and a dirty hood!

Everyone has a different opinion I been here for 4 years all my checks are 8k plus every 2 weeks when I first started before the plandemic things were a lot different yes but now from what I was told the trucks are very expensive yes but I know plenty of people who recently started & don’t make it & I know plenty of folks who paid off there trucks some stayed some left there’s always 2 sides to a story for obvious reasons I’m happy here nobody forcing me to do anything I run my own lane & make good money doing just my opinion your in charge of your own destiny I currently have less than a year left to go & I’m fine hard work does pay off and I don’t stay out months at a time like most I stay in a certain region so I’ll stay close to the house when it’s home time long story at the end of day nobody is going to hold your hand in this game if you have a good business mindset you will make just gotta know how to play & run your business never be afraid to turn down cheap freight & you got there’s always 2 sides to a story I always keep receipts when guys ask me questions at the truckstop wanting to get answers I won’t bash other drivers but some just are lazy & make excuses why they are not achieving their goal just my opinion
