Hi all.
I'm in an older and loud rig.
Weather stripping on the doors and windows are shot.
I'm getting my ears wind blasted all day.
Does anyone wear noise cancelling headphones all day?
If so - are there comfortable noise cancelling headphones for all day use that ALSO lets me send / receive calls?
Is there anything else I should be looking for to deal with the noise?
How to deal with the noise?

Apple AirPods Pro or the Bose Quietcomfort earbuds do really well at reducing that type of noise and are a lot less noticeable than a big pair of over the ear headphones. But, wearing both sides at the same time probably isn't legal in most states.

Drummer in bands for 10 years. Try this trick -
Get some foam ear plugs and slice with a razor blade into thirds.
Gently seat them in your ear canals, don’t shove them in.
This would allow me to hear my kit, the bass player, but cut out the dangerous higher frequencies of the guitar and snare.
Door seals and weather stripping is relatively inexpensive. I’m in a ‘95 so I get it.singlescrewshaker, Flat Earth Trucker, Concorde and 2 others Thank this. -
Is it your own truck? If so I would work on improving the situation.
New weather stripping on the doors and readjusting them so they close properly will make a huge difference. If the inside is metal, find some fabric panels to cover it or carpet scraps. They also make sound deadening foam products. Ap air has rolls of it…we use it in tractor cabs and it works wonders. If it’s not your truck to work on probably the best bet is ear plugs. I would stay away from muffs because I don’t think it’s legal to have both ears obstructed.GESchaefer and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
I am currently battling this as my FLD is loud. Just bought a pair of Bluetooth noise canceling earbuds/plugs. They were great on my end although I had to turn the CB up to max volume to hear it. First phone call to my girlfriend and she could hear lots of background noise. I had to repeat myself multiple times. Back to the drawing board.

I wear ear plugs and if/when they start irritating me I switch to the over the ear ear muffs. When they start squeezing my head I go back to the plugs. It’s worth protecting your ears. I don’t know how accurate it is but App on my phone measuring noise reads mid 90dB when pulling hard and engine fan kicks on.

New weather stripping and door gaskets are pretty inexpensive. So are mufflers.
On my w9 I did put the butyl tape window stripping you can get at the hardware store on the interior surface where the door gasket seals with the cab .... really helped seal against brutal wind.
Also get carpet remnants for the floor. Or thick rugs. This also helps with noiseGESchaefer Thanks this.
