    But the track won't fall off when the equipment slides off the trailer...either that or it's a theft deterrent...nobody wants to work that hard to steal his freight

    Looks like a Shaffer trucking type of tie down job except with to nice of chain and binder. I hear they like to use the steps on large excavators as tie down points.
