4 runs the past 2 weeks. Basically a full time dock worker now. Glad I can work the dock at least.

Old_n_gray Thanks this.

New OD linehaul here. I usually have two turns in SoCal every night, and Sunday nights are always 4 loaded trailers. Last Sunday was 3 trailers, last night it was 2. I really don’t see things turning positive until the 2024 elections (that’s not a political statement one way or the other, just saying that I don’t see a lot of reasons for consumer optimism until then).
Our “sister terminal” just fired a linehaul driver, and my manager said he’s not going to rehire the position, so in the event that myself or the senior linehauler at my terminal somehow get relegated to 4 nights a week running our freight, we’ll slide over and cover the other terminal for a night or two. -

I have no idea. I would assume it’s maintained in the case of a furlough, but maybe not in the case of termination?
I’m the Junior of two linehaul drivers at my terminal, so I don’t gain or lose much either way. -
Will YRC actually go out of biz this time? -
I seriously doubt it.

Well at Estes I've still been rolling strong. My run isn't that good (just 422 miles a night), but it's been rolling. I haven't been cut once. I've had to wait on the front end for them to close trailers but that's about it. Still been working on the weekend (not last weekend) to make up for all the money I'm losing on this run. Preparing to take off a million days in the winter also.
Old_n_gray, jmz and Cardfan89 Thank this. -
