Worst job I ever had. Trucks have 400k miles on them and have to make deliveries in tight ### parking lots in LA. Unloaded 1000 cases/ heavy totes took a toll on my spine. Dealing with store managers that want to rush you to unload quicker. Their trucks have driver facing camera.

I did not like not having a set start time. One day start at 0230 the next 0400. I live 45 mins away from yard and coming home had to deal with traffic, take a shower, eat dinner. I would probably get 5 or 6 hrs of sleep. I only lasted a month. Now I’m still looking for work.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

Doesn't sound like a "BAD" company to me. Sounds like the price you're gonna pay being local, home every night...:dontknow:

Be glad you didn't have to "turn on an 8" and live that far away

    Brand new trucks
Only deliver to wide open yards
    Unload at your leisure
    Start/end whatever times you want
    Have no commute to/from work

Let everyone know when you find that place

Soltaker, bzinger and TB John Thank this.

400k miles? My truck has 750k. Lol

I like my truck. Both truck and trailer are assigned to me. I rarely have issues with either. But, I drive a Pete 389.

I’ve heard they’re built a bit better than the typical “fleet” trucks.

I’m local. I pull a tanker and pretty much work what hours I want. I start anywhere from 6:30 to 7:00 and I’m home NLT 5:00 95% of the time.

Those jobs are out there, but they’re not advertised.

I noticed you didn’t mention one of the better jobs. The poster is being a little of I want to be treated as a senior driver but just started. Believe it or not it’s not always about you.You have to pay your dues and put your time in until you build up some seniority up where you’re not running into major cities.I do know how delivery to drug stores works did that a lot of years ago. They pay pretty good but there’s work involved .There close to the same as food delivery jobs accept there a little easier because you only have to tailgate at drug stores where food service a lot of times you’re two wheeling inside the store.A lot of these totes you can actually take your fifth wheel puller and hook to the bottom tote and pull the stack to the back then simply un stack there

Well.....many like working for UPS. I have had many local jobs, working for manufacturers. LTL.Working at truck dealerships, moving vehicles between customers. Farm driving. Petroleum hauling. Need more?

Just because you might think the above are BS jobs doesn't mean they are.

    TB John Thanks this.
