It ain't getting any easier! I elected to sign up with a company that promised to get me a new Kenworth T680 this fall but until then I will be driving a T680 classic that currently has 667,000 miles on it. They maintain their equipment well but I do have some concerns and I'll just have to see how they flesh themselves out in the months ahead if at all.

I'm really starting to think that if you're a company driver everything is going to suck no matter what, some may suck less than others but everything is still going to suck in one way or the other no matter how you slice it.

Where did you end up going? I don't think veing a company driver sucks personally. It's all so predicated on what you put into trucking, I think. Me personally, I'm a little bit lower maintenance so it isn't hard for a company to satisfy my needs. Long as it pays the bills, I'm cool.

Service One Transportation of Plymouth, Wisconsin is where I committed to working though Ottery Transportation did issue me an offer a week after Service One did. I spoke with Mr. Ottery yesterday and told him that if for some reason things didn't work out at Service One I would be contacting him ASAP. He was very cordial and even apologetic for not getting back in contact with me with a job offer sooner, he did say that he would extend the same consideration towards me if I reapplied at Ottery Transportation.

Service One has more than twice as much demand for their freight services than they have the capacity to haul at this time. Their trucks are well maintained but starting to get a little long in the tooth but it's only because they're having problems, like everyone else, in acquiring new trucks. They said they had a handful of International LTs showing up any day now and they said they would be getting some new Kenworth T680s in the fall (which I am probably going to get to replace my currently assigned T680).

Ahh ok, I don't think I've heard of any of those. What type of trucking do they do?

Dry van hauling of finished goods and other manufacted products east of I-35. They work with a lot of the big companies in central Wisconsin such as Kohler, Rockline, and many others.

I just drove the T680 I referred to today for the first time, it is a 2017 and pretty solid aside from the transmission shifting a little rough. I would say it's probably something to do with the clutch needing some work or replacement. Aside from that the engine is an X15 Efficiency that pulls very well once up to speed but it is brutally slow getting off the line from a dead stop.

Research & investigation takes more work but it produces better results. Rolling the dice gives spotty results.

Unfortunately though as far as what I see this site is one and only biggest place to research trucking companies. And you get both love and hate reviews for same companies on here. And very rarely is it current.
And don't even get me started on the you tube rabbit hole them reviews our just terrible.
Sometimes you just have to roll the dice
Heck I would say the best job I had was recruiter actually called me on a cold call so yeah sometimes dice roll works
