I wouldn't take 99% of their junk for free. They're still running 30 year old Roadway stuff daily.

    Always wondered how that worked.
So, do you get SSI for the entire time you worked, or just until you went under pension? So, in other words, do you get your Teamster pension of $3400 a month plus, probably another $2000 a month SSI for the entire time you worked, or do you get a pro-rated amount up until you went under the pension plan......say maybe $600 -$800 a month?
Not trying to get into your business @jimbobillybob , and i certainly don't expect real numbers. I was just curious.
    Either way, you did well.

    I'm not understanding your reply.
And once again, I'm not trying to get in your wallet, but if I understand your reply, are you saying that you get $3400 from the pension, plus probably another $2200 from SSI?

No kidding. Back on '12 I started working for USF Reddaway in Three Forks, Montana. YRC was in our tiny building and had an office upstairs for their three drivers (one which acted as supervisor).

I distinctly remember that they had two doors and a small section in the yard for their four or five trailers and their converter dollies. I went out there one day and noticed that their gear was complete crap. Their dollies probably weighed 500+ lbs more than ours and the ones that had a landing gear had thick metal wheels that would not swivel to get them to move into any direction but forward. I was like daaayuum! Complete garbage. Glad I don't have to pull their crap. Sucks to be them.

Now I am working the yard and hope to God that I don't throw my back out cranking up their bent up landing gears before we go bankrupt. I mean, the Berlin Wall was still up when this crap came into service.

    Sucks to be me now.

SS is a separate system and has nothing to do with his pension is the way I understand it. So if you want your SS you take it at what age you want.

The amount you get is determined by the amount you put in throughout your career. I'm not sure but I think it is determined on your 5 highest paid years, or something like that.

I could be wrong but it seems like I've seen quite a bit less of yellow on my route these days.

    Mike2633 and bzinger Thank this.
