Facing Bankruptcy After a $700 Million Bailout

this is why i never like or approved of any government bailout.

give'em money, and they cannot pay it back.

a company needs to be bailed out.??

sell some stuff, tighten the belt, fire off management.

NO company should be bailed out.

the members of the board, WILL NOT suffer.

    But, this one is free............
Yellow calls on White House to get Teamsters to table - FreightWaves
However, a precipitous decline in YELL shares given its inability to reach a deal with Teamsters has made that equity worth less than $11 million, a far cry from the $729 million loan balance it has with the government (loan balance includes capitalized interest).

Worth less than 11 million.......my goodness. When Yellow bought Roadway, Roadway had $11 million worth of toilets.

Yah, time to lower the life boats..

If I was a shipper that used yellow I’d be looking elsewhere right about now.. Risking having your goods stuck in one of their trailers when the inevitable finally happens..No thanks.

They allow you to click and read 3 articles for free each month before the 4th one goes behind a paywall. You probably hit your free quota. The Wallstreet Journal does the same thing.

Me and my dispatcher were joking about that yesterday on the dock. We discussed about taking all the inbound freight, putting it on several trailers and selling them off at the flea market.

"Need motor oil? I got two pallets worth! How many cases do ya want? Let's make it $50 and I'll throw in a case of tech-wipes and filters!"

Good thread it's giving me a lot to think about. I'm getting laid off as of tomorrow. I was going to put a app in for Old Dominion but that job usually goes pretty quickly because it would be a good gig. But then I realized there's no hurry because OD is probably gearing up for all the freight that's going to come their way. So maybe I'll just enjoy unemployment for a month or two lol
