We all knew this was coming eventually and now it is here! The fmcsa is rolling out wireless "in motion inspections". Currently in testing, the fmcsa is looking for a ruling on implementation later this year. Now whenever you approach a scale house your ELD will snitch on you and if you have any hos violations get ready! Did you forget to log your pre trip this morning? Did you forget to enter a dvir? Have you not stopped in the last 3 hours to check your load? Your eld knows and now the dot does to. Every single time!

I knew it was coming eventually. They just couldn't help themselves. I for one will be selling my emissions loving POS eld truck and buy a old pre emissions truck that won't snitch on me.

The FMCSA is quietly working on making 'in-motion roadside inspections' happen

    Bring it on!
There's too many trucks out here anyways!

Maybe it'll get rid of some of these $2 per mile haulers!!!

It's already here. SD SB Sisseton has sensors in the road that detect over heated brake components and will pull you and you alone in if you've a dragging component

    That’s the truth!

I’m just waiting for them to tell me that I have to limit my truck to 65 mph. I will on that day shut down my authority and retire.

It is required to stop the first 50 miles after loaded and each following 150 miles thereafter.

I don't always do it either but that don't mean it isn't in the green book and if they wanted to press the issue they could. That's my point now they will have a record of it and the eld in your truck will alert dot you haven't stopped to do your load checks.
