Batteries are junk these days and the batteries in everything I own go away every 2 years .
I got better things to do than freeze my ### off over batteries or that call from mama saying her car won't Start when I'm 2 days from home .

Put in my application to FCC yesterday.
I've been reading through the thread, don't think I've read it all but made in to page 763 (and have also been working through the couple dozen or so pages).
It seems like one of the things guys were raving about was how positive the culture was. Have seen some murmurings as I get later in the thread that things aren't how they once were. Has the culture changed?
The other thing that appealed to me was the preplanning. When I worked for Bestway Express many years ago one of the dealbreakers was getting empty and then sitting 12-16 hours only to get a Cheap Heavy and Late 200 mile load and then rinse and repeat. Trucking happens but I like knowing what the plan is after I deliver. Some guys were having some trouble with preplanning after Ben moved up. Has this gotten better?

I'm not sure where you read about the culture changing, but ever since I started in February, the culture has been great.

And regarding preplans, you will not sit around waiting for a load. Yes, there's a few occasions where i don't get my next load until I deliver, but I have NEVER waited more than 30 minutes to get assigned my next load. Sitting for 12-16 hours after delivery just doesn't happen here. If it did, someone in the office screwed the pooch big time and will probably get fired.

    DonRobbie and bzinger Thank this.

@DonRobbie Things here are still pretty much the same here as the were when I started back in 2017. Some faces have changed do to retirement and promotions within the company. Ben was an amazing fleet manager, and his replacement is still trying to get his sea legs underneath him.

For the most part you are usually preplanned here, and if you aren’t you won’t sit for hours waiting on a dispatch. If you wait an hour after getting unloaded that is highly unusual.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, this is the best organization I have ever been a part of in this industry. Hands down.

Absolutely, Don Robbie. Faces have changed, but the culture here is great. Welcome to the best trucking company on planet Earth. Doing a 34 for the third week in a row, here at the New TA express in Cookeville TN. Sbarros pizza, Hardees, and a Mexican grill in the same food court? Gotta get here early. More reserved parking than regular and not a whole lot of either. But this place is pristine. I 40 x288. Opened back in Feb. Now to go check out their showers.

Just replaced the alternator on my TK unit at 6600 hours. No other issues, though in oppressive heat I’ll still idle until after sunset if I shut down early.

Awesome. You will love it here. Only been here for 3 years myself but I’ve not seen the culture change.

As to Ben, you might have seen a post or two from me. Yes, Ben is an awesome planner. I recently saw his magic when he was planning a few loads back to back for me.

May comments should be read as coming from being planned, preplanned and often stacked to “only” getting my next plan before I drop… LOL (ya, Ben spoiled me)

You will NEVER sit here for 13-16 hours waiting on some crap load that’s already 3 hours late. Just does NOT happen.

The members of this thread is awesome too. As you come across questions, you will get straight answers here either before or after you sign on.

speaking of which, when are you coming over? You will be impressed from Day One of Orientation.

Anybody in New Mexico today heads up, there's bears everywhere on I-25, portables set up and rolling everybody across on both sides in the parking area turnouts between Las Vegas and Santa Fe
