Well, they were at least able to tear it apart and diagnose last night, finally got my bed back at midnight. Put back in shop when they opened this morning. Turns out the DEF issue isn't the pump or filter, it's a line going from the tank to pump that's cracked and started leaking, causing the dousing pressure to fluctuate. I'm also having the filler neck replaced because the plastic bracket that holds it at the top broke, so when you put a nozzle in it moves around, naturally nothing is covered under warranty because it was a line and not a component or sensor. Ugh!... while they have the passenger side lower fairing off I think I figured out the coolant leak, with it off you can see coolant trickling down the back side of the plastic inner fender coming from the firewall, so I'm pretty sure it's gonna be the heater core. Not having them deal with that, I'll go back to FCC, but at least now we know where to look, hopefully back in Fremont shop by midday

Well looks like FCC may not have time for the coolant leak, so screw it, I'm staying right here and having Detroit take care of it all. Stupid part is is still gotta go to on of the shops anyway for my ####### 90 day inspection. Not pleased
MidWest_MacDaddy, dwells40 and bzinger Thank this. -
I totally get them being shorthanded and not having time for anything but company trucks. But if that's the case get rid of the stupid 90 day inspections until you're fully staffed again. DOT only requires once a year anyhow. I understand why they want to do them every 90 days and it makes since to make sure owner ops are keeping up their maintenance, but if you're that shorthanded it'd make since to change that temporarily until their fully staffed again

At least they have nice comfy facilities here!

Pulled into the Cowboy Travel Plaza in Oklahoma and my engine fan kicked on as is normally the case when it's hot outside at low speeds. Some state trooper was sitting in the back row and I had to drive in front of him in order to park, and ended up crop dusting his cruiser.
His fault for sitting downwind of trucks pulling into a dusty gravel lot.Last edited: Aug 3, 2023
