So I've had my CDL since 2015 and maintained it but having a lot of trouble finding a starter company now that I can afford to start doing this for work. Are there any other companies in Utah that will take new drivers? So far been rejected by decent companies due to not having 6 months experience.
Starter companies (Chinatown please help).

The Forum can help you much better with some info.....
- Where in Utah are you located (what city, or what zip code)?
- Do you have any endorsements (tanker, hazmat, doubles/triples)?
- Do you have any accidents/traffic citations?
- Do you have any criminal history? Substance abuse?
- Can you stay out for weeks at a time? If not--can you stay out a couple of weeks (or at least, be home weekly)?

May Trucking has terminals in Layton and Payette. They hire new drivers. I started with them out of Pensacola, FL. IMO, they’re not a bad outfit to start with.

Prime has a terminal in Salt Lake. I went in there with only a brand new CDL and finished a year of reefer with them in March.
I thought they were a good starter company...once I got proficient at trip planning and clock management, they ran me pretty hard.bryan21384 and Concorde Thank this. -
Not hatin'.bryan21384 Thanks this. -
Yeah, yeah...it was a good thing I didn't mind just cruising at 62 and letting everybody blow by.
bryan21384 Thanks this. -
He has a CDL but ain't been behind the wheel for quite some time. (That's how I'm reading it.)
Does Prime have trainers? I know England does, they motor around the industrial areas around their terminal. -
Yes they're a training company...for me with a CDL and no experience I had to go out with a trainer for 40,000 miles. It's team training, which some folks don't want to do. It wasn't the most fun thing in the world but keep eyes on the prize and you get through it.
I got lucky and had an experienced trainer...I realize some aren't as lucky and end up having to switch trainers, which would needlessly slow things down.bryan21384 and Bill51 Thank this.
