FCC--Fremont Contract Carriers

I called and talked to mike and he gave me a no. I understand, and I had my time. I’d still hands down recommend FCC to anyone one the fence, just go you won’t regret it. I’m back to running reefer.

 

If I was in a position to reliably trade trucks shortly before the warranty was up I'd only install an inverter and an Espar heater in a truck and idle it .
Makes sense for a large fleet but not owner ops or small fleets .
Example: I'm at 1.2 million on my truck with an inframe at 700k ...still on the same injectors , water pump , fuel pump , air compresser .
Tossed the alternater , starter and ac compressor proactively at 900k.
Why ? Very few idle hours ....I could go on.

 

Pulled into the Love's in Boise City, OK for a 30 and guess who's truck I backed next to .

 

Well, they think it’s one part that is causing all the issues. They are hoping to get it fixed today but maybe in the morning. Still have a brake issue too so I hope that is an easy fix too. It will be nice to have brakes.

 

In the Hotel in Fremont. Survived the unfriendly skies. They flew me in via Eastern. Was uncomfortable but not as actively bad of an experience as I was prepared for. Didn't sleep at all last night since I was so keyed up/stressed out so when I got to Fremont I'd been up for 30 hours save a couple 15-20 minute catnaps.
Ryan is a very tall dude. Nice guy but I felt... short LOL. All kinds of trucks parked in front of the shop (some were on their way out or in I assume since they appeared to not have any logos/numbers).
They gave me a car to drive for the couple days I'll be here. Staying at the Holiday Inn express. There is a breakfast but it starts at 6:30 and I need to be back at the mothership for my orientating at 6:50, so I got a pizza tonight and will snarf a slice in the AM. Maybe Wednesday I'll get that sweet, sweet Continental. Did get a $10 voucher for the "company kitchen" (frozen meals, etc.) so I assume that's lunch for tomorrow.

 

Reminds me of the cartoon where Yosemite Sam can't get his horse to stop "Gosh Darned It! I said whoa!"

 

Ya, not wanting to replicate that scene in a CMV with 45k on my backside… LOL

 

Well... good to see my boy finally came to work lol, I was snoozing by then. Got another hour and a half or so and I'll be starting my day. Where'd ya make it to?

 

A parking only turnout about 15 minutes or so past Las Vegas. A few other trucks are parked here but otherwise it's a very quiet spot.

Could've made it further but I started to feel a little weary. I'd rather not tackle those hills and curves with 44k in the box while tired lol

 

Yeah, that's a nice quiet nights sleep, I like staying at those. I'll be passing ya in a few hours. I'll be heading out to Prewitt to the paper mill, been awhile since I've had to go out there. You're probably getting my nice light pallet load lol
