FCC--Fremont Contract Carriers

Just replaced my 1998 Chevy Cavalier. 260000 miles on it. Have a 19 Kia Forte with 145000+ on it. If you take care of them, they take care of you. 109 miles to work each way 3 times a week.

 

Mine is disabled.

 

Isn't much you said that I would disagree with other than to say ford's 3 valve engines are just as bad , yes the 3800 v6 was the best of the best for gm and they were idiots for discontuing it .
Have recently heard tho that the secret to avoiding the afm issue is run high quality full syn oil and don't run it beyond 5k miles and don't go by the oil life monitor.
I only put 1500 miles on my 13 silverado last year so that isn't gonna be an issue with mine as I drop oil every spring .

 

Mobil1 and filter 5w30 full synthetic.

 

Ford's 5.4 3 valve is arguably worse than the GM 3.6. I wouldn't sell one of those to my worst enemy. The 3800, Ford modular 4.6 v8 (the ones in my cars), and the AMC 4.0L straight six motors are arguably some of the best engines to come out of Detroit

 

Yep I run mobil 1 in my pick ups and small engines.
Amzoil in the better halfs Volkswagen tigaun on extended drains because the transmission isn't serviceable and will eventually fail resulting in it going goodbye.
Rottella full syn in the apu and straight rottella in the truck engine.

 

Those cars with sealed transmissions are stupid. 'lifetime' fluid my ###. They're even starting to remove oil dipsticks from cars.

 

Watch car wizard down in witchita and he says avoid Ford 3 valves at all cost .

 

My 05 explorer had no dipstick, that tigaun doesent either .

 

When I get back to Texas going to try and dig up some pictures of my 1968 chevelle ss big block 4spd. 4.56 3500rpm at 55 mph talk about a gas guzzler.
