Well after all the silliness on Monday when I started up the truck Tuesday morning the Qualcomm fired right up. Had a bunch of errors that went away about 2 this morning. Since it was inoperative for a day they routed me to Fremont to get it fixed. Of course the misbegotten child of HAL is happy as a clam now. Travis claimed it might have been in the middle of an update. ’m worried we’re going to be in the exact same place with the Qcom in the not too distant future. Like the truck otherwise but this is the fourth time around and the second shop visit for Qualcomm issues.
The truck is close to due for an 8000 mile service so it won’t be an entirely wasted trip.
Moving to longhaul van when I come back out of the house. Unfortunately not changing DMs. Guy isn’t a bad dude, but we’re annoying each other a lot and not really communicating effectively. Hoping with longhaul the lack of pre plans will diminish or at least be less annoying.
Feels like on Midwest Regional they’re always scrambling to try to figure out how to get me home.

If he isn't working out for you, you can request a new DM. Not everyone is compatible, if you aren't communicating well with him tell Erik you'd like a different dm. They can't fix things if they don't know there's a problem, gotta speak up man.

dwells40, bzinger and cdavis188 Thank this.

Pulled into a rest area and found out that my truck passed 400k on the ticker. I should have around 3,350 miles on this paycheck. Won't know exactly until tomorrow's settlement. A lot better than last weeks 2200 but that NM load was carried over and that was a 1,326 mile run. Not too bad I think

Well they made a liar out of me. I’m pre planned to Friday. Load sequence I was on fell through because my loaded trailer going to Lincoln needed more quality time with the shop so got an offer to go to ND and Minnesota (getting asked was nice). So I’m in Summit, SD chilling. Don’t deliver at my first drop until 8 so don’t really need to roll until a quarter till 6. That means I get to sleep in (normally roll at 3 or earlier), which might be a problem for using my clock fully. Have 3 drops in ND and Minnesota, then pick up a load of honey in Barrels in East Grand Forks going back down to Iowa. I’m supposed to block and brace those. That’s a new one on me. It seems like E-blocking would just make them tip over. I’m assuming the loader will know what they want me to do. Has anyone done that load before? Asked the guy filling in for my DM and he wasn’t sure what exactly was going to be required.

    BigR Thanks this.
